Uinta County School District #1

Evanston, Wyoming

Jaraun Dennis is not a marketing executive, but the Director of Technology at Uinta County School District #1 in Evanston, Wyoming sounded like one when he said:

“If there was a three-word slogan for Level Data, I’d say ‘it just works.’ It just works and you forget about it – I don’t know how to say it better. It just works. You leave it alone and it does its thing and you don’t have to worry about it at all.”

‘Its thing’ as Dennis referred to is creating a single point of data entry for more than a dozen district-wide software programs, allowing data to flow freely between those programs and then creating a daily email report.

PowerSchool and Active Directory are his district’s primary applications, but with Level Data’s proprietary system, the Uinta food, transportation, library and multiple other departments all access the same accurate student data – without painstaking input into each software application.

“Before Level Data we had like 10 people in the district inputting the same information,” Dennis said. “We now have cleaner data. With Level Data’s one point of entry, that’s what fixes your issues and then it fixes everything else.”

He said the high school students are some of the happiest end users, because it used to take up to a week to create and activate their school emails.

“Now, as soon as their Active Directory account is created, Level Data takes over and in less than 24 hours they have their student email account,” Dennis said. “So the kids are excited there’s not that latency that there used to be, waiting for each separate account to be set up. It's another speed to learning example.”

Dennis said being efficient is the most important trait to him, and Level Data’s system has allowed for more efficient use of staff time district-wide — adding that “In my department, easily we’ve saved an hour a day that we’ve been able to devote to keeping the network up and running.”

So that everything “just works.”
